We have two halls for hire at St. Thomas the Apostle.
The Main Hall - St. Damien Hall
The Main Hall, which can hold a maximum of 180 people is the larger of our two halls. It is equipped with tables & chairs, a separate bar area with 2 under counter coolers, a fully equipped kitchen with two cookers, microwaves and fridge freezers. Ladies and Gent toilets. However, please note that there is no disabled toilet in this hall.
The Parish Centre.
The Parish Centre is the smaller of the two halls and holds a maximum of 80 people. This hall is not normally available for hire until after 6.30pm on Saturdays during term time and not at all on Sunday's. The centre is equipped with tables & chairs, a separate bar area complete with a drinks cooler, a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge freezer and microwaves. Ladies and Gents toilets including a disabled toilet.

Hire Times and Charges
Hall bookings must be supported by a £100 non refundable deposit (to secure) and the balance to be paid 2 weeks before event or by agreement.
WEEKDAYS Monday to Friday
The hall/centre are available for hire during weekdays for funerals from 9am in the morning until 8pm at night. Premises must be vacated by 8pm - this allows one hour for cleaning up. An extension of one hour can be arranged if your funeral is after 12 noon. The cost is £500 of which £100 will be refunded as long as you comply fully with all of the terms and conditions of the hiring agreement (see below). Failure to comply with all the terms and conditions of hire can result in loss of a refund. Refunds will normally be paid 3-5 days after the event.
Weddings
The hall/centre are available for hire for wedding receptions from 7pm on Friday till 11pm on Saturday. No music is to be played between 6.15pm to 7.15pm in order to avoid disruption to the celebration of mass. All music and serving of drinks must cease by 11pm and the premises must be cleaned and vacated by 12 midnight - to allow one hour for cleaning up. The cost is £650 of which £100 will be refunded as long as you comply fully with all the terms and conditions of hire (see below). Failure to comply with all the terms and conditions of hire can result in the loss of a refund. Refunds will normally be paid 3-5 days after the event.
Parties on Saturdays
The hall/centre are available for hire for parties on Saturdays from 9am till 11pm. On Saturday no music is to be played between 6.15pm to 7.15pm to avoid disruption to the celebration of mass. All music and serving of drinks mustcease by 11pm and the premises must be cleaned and vacated by 12 midnight - to allow one hour for cleaning up. The cost is £550 of which £100 will be refunded as long as you comply with all the terms and conditions of hire (see below). Failure to comply with all the terms and conditions of hire can result in loss of a refund. Refunds are normally paid 3-5 days after the event.
Sunday Bookings The main hall is available on some Sunday's by arrangement from 3pm till 10.30pm. No music is to be played between 6.15pm to 7.15pm to avoid disruption to the celebration of mass. All music and serving of drinks mustcease by 10pm and the premises must be cleaned and vacated by11.30pm - this allows you over one hour to clean up. The cost is £500 of which£100 will be refunded as long as you comply with all the terms and conditions of hire (see below). Failure to comply with all the terms and conditions can result is a loss of refund. Refunds are normally paid 3-5 days after the event.
Special Requests
Under special circumstances other times will be considered, but there will be no extensions to the finishing times of music and vacating the premises.
All requests for the use and hire of the halls (including Church groups and Associations) must be organised through David Smith who is the Church/Committee representative for all matters concerning the hire and usage of the halls.

Terms and Conditions of Hire
The hirer of the halls must comply with the following Terms and Conditions of hire:
In order to consider a request, the hirer of the hall/centre (with the exceptions of funerals which will are under special request) must be an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
The hirer must complete a hiring agreement form (available from David Smith) and must agree to abide by all the terms and conditions of hire. A £100 non refundable deposit is required. All balances owed must be paid two weeks before the event, to ensure that the premises are not used for any purpose other than that stated in the hiring agreement
The hirer must use the Parish bar and its staff for parties and weddings. All drinks must be purchased through the parish bar, however, this will be waived if you intend to give alcohol free to your guests.
The premises to be hired are all or part of the premises of the parish hall / centre of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Nunhead, and consist of the hall, toilets, kitchen, Tables & Chairs, and cooking facilities, which are all included in the hire charge.
To ensure that the hirer or a specified other person so authorised by the hirer and made known to the caretaker is present throughout the period of hire. To ensure that the responsible person does not leave the premises at the end of the period of hire until the caretaker attends to secure the premises.
To ensure that no music is played on Saturdays and Sunday's between 6.15pm to 7.15pm, after 11pm on Saturday nights and 10.30pm on Sunday's and the agreed finishing time on weekdays.
To ensure that all music & noise is kept to a reasonable level (within the noise abatement levels set by Southwark Councils) during and after the event. No high performance large speakers are permitted in the hall. The ensure that the activities for which the premises are hired for, cease in sufficient time to allow all people to leave the premises, all apparatus concerned with the hire, to be removed and the premises cleaned and tidied within the hire period.
To ensure that all facilities (this includes kitchen and toilets) are left in a clean and tidy condition and to ensure that all furniture moved will be returned to its original site.
To ensure that all rubbish is removed from the premises and taken away by the hirer and disposed of either at your own home or at the local recycling centre. No rubbish must be left on the street outside the premises or in the neighbouring gardens.
St Damien Hall hire requires the garden and porch to be cleaned. Parish Centre hire requires the back yard to be cleaned.
