St. Thomas the Apostle prides itself in having numerous clubs, offering something to all members of our Parish and Community. Click the links for further information on each group.
The Ascent Group Brian Sanders is the orgainser at St. Thomas the Apostle for the Ascent Group. The Ascent is a Christian movement for older people who have retired from active working life and are looking for friendship with a spiritual dimension within their parish. The Ascent in a nutshell could be called a spiritual friendship group. The St Thomas the Apostle Ascent Group, meet after the 9.30am Mass every Wednesday, except during school holidays. Ir we were asked how to describe ourselves to outhers, like other Ascent Groups, we are based on three aims: Spirituality Mission and Friendship. We are a prayer group who support each other and parish activities, along with some spiritual input. We always welcome new members into the group and arrange various social events.
Childrens Liturgy Aimed at children aged 3+. Children leave the mass after the opening prayers at the 10.30 am Mass and they come back in at the offertory. During this time, they listen to the Gospel and join in in the mass, but the mass is given to them in a theme that they will be able to understand.
Catholic Womens League (CWL) This is an organisation set up in 2004 by the women of this Parish offering support to the Parish and the surrounding communities.
Knights of St. Columba - Peckham Council 117 The Knights of St Columba are an Order of Catholic Laymen dedicated to the Service of the Church and fellow man. The Organisation, which is non-political and essentially democratic, exists to support the mission of the Catholic Church and at the same time to work for the spiritual and material good of its members and their families.
